The D Train
West 4th Street Manhattan to 205th Street Queens

[The D Train] This D train is pulling into 34th Street/Herald Square. Dylan immortalized the D train in "Visions of Johanna":
In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain
And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train
We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight
Ask himself if it's him or them that's really insane
These lyrics are the most notable thing about the D train. It costs $1.50 per ride and if you wish, you can go all the way to Queens. The D train used to originate in Brooklyn, but it no longer goes to Brooklyn. It now originates at the West 4th Street Station in Manhattan.
