Note: Dylan news items on electronic periodical sites may have limited life spans!
This was a tough month for the webmaster. A 'spammer' ruined the Guest Book, but thanks to the folks at Global Guest, all 7 pages of Guest Book were restored.
Additionally, so-called "hacker(s)" ruined rec.music.dylan and dozens of other newsgroups. I was unable to read the October rmd archives to find news articles for this page, because my newsreaders cannot handle the 11,000 posts on rmd.
The November page will be much more exciting, with major Dylan content in Q magazine, Vanity Fair, and Mojo magazine.
Yes, it's silly, but this Astrological Comparison of Bob and Jacob Dylan, by Jill Dearmna, is also lots of fun.
Clinton Heylin will re-publish his Dylan biography, presumably with up-to-date biographical information, as Behind The Shades Revisited. Read about it at the Washington Post: What About Bob?. The author of the article, Fred Goodman, is a bit critical of the original Behind The Shades, which is generally considered one of the best of the Dylan biographies.
Dylan runs free at Wembley is a review of one of the much-touted UK shows, from the Music Industry News Network (MI2M.com)

A fascinating Tour Diary written by a roadie for Asleep At The Wheel, who opened for Dylan, is on the sonicnet site.
Curious about the European tours? Follow it with Dylanbase on the Road, or check out the Dylan bootleg database at the same site. http://www.guster.com/
Another road diary offered up by Guster.com: check the August 1st diary for a description of the band meeting Dylan and the delicious food served up by the Dylan tour chef.
For descriptions and links to the reviews in local newspapers, see rec.music.dylan. Use the "Edit: Search Messages" function to look for specific articles. You can search rec.music.dylan at deja.com by typing in "rec.music.dylan" as the search term, then doing a subsearch when rec.music.dylan has loaded.
National Public Radio has an archive of Dylan radio program segments. These RealAudio files are about Dylan, rather than interviews with him.
For Dylan media appearances prior to June 1999, see 20 Lbs. of Headlines, a massive list of articles about Dylan. Not all of them are linked to the actual article, but there is still hours of reading to be found here.
The best source for interviews is News and Interviews at Boblinks. Magazine and newspaper articles can also be found here.
