February 2006
The February 2006 Acoustic Guitar World featured a Dylan cover story about Dylan:
"His Most Revealing Interview! Bob Dylan Shares His Songwriting Secrets." It is actually a reprint of a 2004 interview with Robert Hilburn. The issue also includes a "Bob Dylan Lesson: Learn to play some of Dylan's greatest songs, and discover just how underrated a guitarist he is." The photos alone make this issue well-worth the $5.99 cover price. Click to view scans.

Scan of New York Times review of Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center: "Dylan's in a Dark Mood, and Haggard Offers No Relief"
October 2004
The first volume of Bob Dylan's autobiography, Chronicles, has been published! The reviews have been outstanding. Click to view scans from the Rolling Stone article "Dylan on Dylan".

A photo and brief description of Dylan receiving an honorary Doctor of Music from the University of St. Andrews appeared in the June 23 New York Times.
Click to view a scan, or read about it on MSNBC: "Speechless Dylan accepts
honorary degree".
The June 24th Rolling Stone was a special retrospective: "50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock & Roll." Naturally, Dylan plugging in at Newport made the cut. Click to view scans.
The famous "psychedelic hair" illustration of Dylan graced the cover of the June 13 New York Times Book Review; inside is Jonathen Lethem's review of the new scholarly book on Dylan's lyrics, Dylan's Visions of Sin, and a few thoughts on Dylan from Lucinda Williams. click to view scans.
May 2004
A site visitor thoughtfully sent me some vintage Dylan media clips from the New York Times: Robert Shelton's writeup of the 1983 Newport Folk Festival, "Folk Music Fete Called a Success," (PDF) and Shelton's famous 1961 review of Dylan's appearance at Gerde's Folk City: "Bob Dylan: a Distinctive Folk-Song Stylist" (PDF).
April 2004
The April 16th New York Times ran an article called "Corporate Culture Clash: Elitism, Popularity and Rock 'n' Roll," by John Rockwell. The protest surrounding Dylan's electric performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival is mentioned in several paragraphs, and the article is illustrated with a large photo of Dylan performing at the Festival. Click for a scan of the article.
April 2004 Uncut magazine promises a "unique edition of Bob Dylan photos," and also features a review of Live 1964.
The April 2004 issue of Mojo Music magazine offers a review of Bob Dylan Live 1964
Mojo also has a special edition featuring 50 Years of Rock and Roll. Note that this isn't a regular issue of Mojo, it's one of their collectible editions. Dylan's electrifying appearance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival gets good coverage, with a 2-page spread and some photos.
March 2004
Here's a scan of the March 28th New York Times review of Live 1964: Concert at Philharmonic Hall.
Remember when Victoria's Secret used "Lovesick" in a television commercial? Now the man himself will appear alongside scantily-clad supermodels in their new ad campaign. Just in case the songwriting thing doesn't work out: Bob Dylan looks for commercial success as Secret partner
Dylan will grant a "full access" interview to Martin Scorcese, who is developing a biopic about Dylan's life up to the motorcycle crash of 1966. This may be old news for some, but if you haven't heard about it yet, here's the BBC article Dylan to give Scorsese interview.
Agence France-Presse reports that Bob Dylan will be the subject of a biographical feature film to be directed by Todd Haynes. The working title is "I'm Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Bob Dylan." The title could be pithier, I have no idea how they'll fit it onto the billboards. Dylan will not appear in the film.
